About Canadian Special Hockey
The Canadian Special Hockey Association is dedicated to promote, support and encourage persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by offering inclusive hockey programs that will encourage their individual development and integration into their communities.
Special Hockey has its origins since 1968 in London, Ontario. The newly established Canadian Special Hockey Association (CSHA) launched in 2013 with the goal of expanding programs nationally.
There are presently 27 Canadian programs and approximately 500 member athletes.
Today there are 40 programs located throughout the US, Canada, England, Norway, and Sweden comprising close to 1,000 athletes playing hockey.
